At Spokane Valley Montessori, our passionate and dedicated staff are guided by the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori, fostering a nurturing environment where each child is respected as a capable, curious, and independent learner. Our team brings a deep commitment to supporting the whole child – socially, emotionally, and academically – through thoughtful observation, individualized guidance, and a carefully prepared classroom environment. We are honored to introduce the educators and staff who help cultivate a love of learning and a strong sense of self in every child we serve.
Miss Alexa – Children’s House Teacher
Miss Alexa was raised in western Washington and earned her Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Anthropology from Western Oregon University, as well as a Master of Theological Studies from Newman University. She brings three years of experience working with children in a Montessori educational setting, where she supported young learners in developing independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
Miss Alexa is passionate about nurturing the whole child, with a strong focus on social-
emotional growth, individualized support, and hands-on exploration. She strives to create a calm, engaging classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to discover their abilities.
In her free time, Miss Alexa enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her husband and their toddler, Violet.
Miss Claire – Toddler Community Teacher
Miss Claire brings several years of experience working with young children and has spent part of her career in a Reggio Emilia-inspired setting, where she developed a deep appreciation for child-led learning and creativity. She especially enjoys supporting toddlers as they grow, explore, and discover the world around them.
Miss Claire holds an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from SFCC and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Eastern Washington University (EWU). She loves creative expression through writing, crafts, and baking – often sharing her homemade treats with others.
At home, she stays busy with her two curious and playful cats, Maggie and Goldie. Miss Claire looks forward to getting to know each child and family she works with.
Miss Diedre – Toddler Community Teacher
Miss Diedre has been working in a childcare setting since 2020 and truly enjoys supporting children as they grow and learn. She has experience working with infants through school-age children, and she especially loves working with toddlers, where she can nurture early development during these important foundational years.
Miss Diedre is married and a proud mom to a two-year-old daughter. At home, her family also includes two dogs and a fish, creating a lively and loving environment. Outside of the classroom, she runs a small baking business and enjoys creating cakes and other sweet treats. Miss Diedre brings warmth, creativity, and a genuine love for children into the classroom each day.
Miss Zaraih – Children’s House & Toddler Community Teacher
Miss Zaraih brings seven years of childcare experience and a background supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. She is passionate about helping children grow and gain confidence.
She looks forward to pursuing further knowledge and first-hand experiences within our Montessori facility that aligns with her beliefs.
Outside of work, she enjoys reading, spending time in nature, and hiking with her family. Her favorite seasons are spring and fall, when she appreciates the calm of rainy, foggy days.
